How do I go about registering with the practice?

A.

Give our Reception a call on 02827662532 where you can arrange an appointment to have an examination carried out. To this appointment you will be asked to bring the following: Medical Card (or Health & Care number), list of current medication, photographic ID and proof of your address.

What happens in an emergency?

A.

Regular dental check-ups can help avoid emergencies – occasionally however emergencies do happen, that’s why we set aside appointments every day to accommodate, and we do all we can to help our patients in the event of a dental emergency. If you need one of these appointments, please phone as early as possible.

Emergency out of hours services are available at Dalriada Urgernt Care in Ballymena. If you have severe pain, bleeding or swelling and we are not open, contact 02825663510.

Do you have disabled access?

There is one ground floor surgery. Three other surgeries are on the first floor of the practice with a chairlift available. Staff will be happy to assist if necessary.

Am I entitled to free treatment?

A.

As a registered patient of the practice receiving any of the following benefits, you will qualify for free NHS treatment if you are:

  • Aged Under 18
  • Aged 18 and in full time education
  • In receipt of Income Support*
  • In receipt of Income-Based Jobseeker’s Allowance*
  • In receipt of Guaranteed Pension Credit*
  • In receipt of Income-Related Employment Support Allowance*
  • Have a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate*
  • Pregnant with a valid maternity exemption certificate and up to baby’s first birthday (Baby’s DOB will be required)
  • Have a valid HC2 Certificate*

What age should children start attending the dentist?

A.

It would benefit children if you could start bringing them along with you on your dental check-ups to familiarise them to the environment. Babies can be registered within the practice from birth. Examination is carried out when the child is willing to proceed normally from the age of two years old.

What happens if I cancel/miss and appointment?

A.

The practice require at least 24hours notice to cancel an appointment, where possible.  A fee will be charged for broken or late cancellation appointments. Failure to attend multiple appointments could result in you being de-registered at the Practice.
